DRAGON TEARS

Patrick Rocha has been a friend of mine since we were teenagers and we’ve made music together in various capacities since 1999 (Domesticated Ohms Group, Your Reflection). He’s always been an enthusiastic supporter of my own musical endeavors, so when he asked for my help with his solo project I was more than happy to oblige. Here are two records we worked on together.

Zenith Phoenix was recorded to 4-track cassette by Patrick using his trusty SK-1 and SK-5 Casios and VHS tapes in Bushwick, NY in 2004. Mixed and mastered by me in Boston. I vaguely recall editing some of it in ProTools, but I could be wrong.

We recorded the second Dragon Tears release, Options, October 2010 in Kansas City while I was in town for about a month. Patrick let loose on the Casio SK-1, SK-5, and the PT-80. Spacial reorganization and manipulation came by way of the terribly underrated DOD Performer series 585 analog delay. All cuts are one take, live with no edits.
